Last Saturday, May 28th, about twenty people participated in the citizen's day
proposed by the Municipality and the school, in reference to the World Environment Day
scheduled every year at the beginning of June.
The collection of waste in three public spaces and one private one allowed to clear a whole trailer of scrap metal,
plastic and even household waste. The volunteers, although dismayed at their
dismayed by their finds, were pleased to have removed these items from nature, which will be
to the Callac waste disposal center for recycling or incineration.
Many old and still current dumps exist in our countryside
due to the absence of waste disposal centers in the past and bad habits that persist. Our
citizen action of this day is a way to show the example so that these unacceptable practices stop
unacceptable practices now that our waste can be taken care of by the services of the
services of the agglomeration Guingamp-Paimpol.
We know today that plastic, in nature, takes years, or even much more, before to disintegrate and contributes, for a large part, to the pollution of rivers and the ocean.
Raw materials, such as sand and metals, are in short supply, and much waste containing them is now being reworked to
are now reworked to be used again.
It is really necessary to make the effort to sort our waste and to deposit it in the adequate
containers at our disposal or in the waste disposal centers for bulky items (large boxes, furniture, bedding
furniture, bedding, bicycles...), specific materials (batteries, light bulbs, neon lights, oils,
electronics...) Clothing.
A part of the volunteers also weeded manually the flowerbeds of the village and the playground.
Now that the technical service is no longer allowed to use phytosanitary products
a helping hand is welcome for the maintenance of these spaces which make our commune attractive.
A third participative workshop prepared and set up the picnic with what everyone
everyone had brought. The commune offered the aperitif and the drink for the meal. The atmosphere was very friendly.
This day was the occasion to get acquainted for some, in particular with our English friends who participated.
The exhibition "Stop wasting" prepared by the students with Vanessa, the teacher and
volunteers will remain in place in the multipurpose room until June 5. The idea of a booklet gathering the various
information as well as the photos taken during the day was launched for consultation at the
consultation in the town hall afterwards.
